(Los Angeles, CA) – We are deeply disappointed in the AMPTP and their members’ leadership, who continue to disrespect SAG-AFTRA and WGA by refusing to bargain in good faith, and negotiate a deal that appropriately addresses their basic needs.
AMPTP grossly undermines the ingenuity and skills provided by their actors and writers, which are fundamental to the creative works they exploit. No Artificial Intelligence can or ever will replace the human experience and its depiction. People who contribute their talents to successful content must share in the profits their contributions generate.
We strongly support SAG-AFTRA and WGA in their fight for streaming residuals, restrictions on the use of Artificial Intelligence, fair wages, and better working conditions. We are committed to fostering a collaborative, supportive, and respectful environment for artists, and doing our part to build a sustainable entertainment industry.
We condemn the attitude and actions of AMPTP and urge them to immediately return to the table with an offer that honors the artists responsible for their profits.
